Misha Bonaventura

From condom stores to cabaret shows, from research to ruckus, Misha loves to be in sex positive spaces of all kinds.

Starting in the mid-90’s Misha's career has spanned working at a condom store, to interviewing gay men for the largest national study on HIV/AIDS, to co-producing What is Erotic?, a cabaret-style theater show, while working for Dr. Rachel Abrams, the author of The Multi-Orgasmic Woman. Since studying sociology at George Washington University, Misha has always been drawn to the subjects of culture change, relationships, and sex, but it wasn’t until she stumbled into the sex positive community of the Bay Area after a giant squid expert broke her heart that she ended up taking a deep dive into deconstructing her beliefs around relating through her personal explorations of non-monogamy and sex parties. These adventures captured her attention as personal growth catalysts and she dedicated her career to creating spaces for others to experience the magic of new social paradigms around dating and sex. Through creating new cultures of relating, Misha believes that we can shift from our current extractive, objectifying, lonely paradigm to a more abundant, reciprocal, and collaborative relational field.

Misha is known for co-authoring Bonobo Network’s Consent & Accountability Policy that paved the way for a new baseline of accountability in sex positive spaces.

From 2017-2024 she co-produced Bonobo Network with William Winters, a 2000 person and growing community of people where pleasure seekers can learn together – and from one another – about sexuality, pleasure, and relationships. Since 2012, she has offered conflict resolution coaching and mediation through Clearing Conversations. She’s worked with sex culture revolutionaries like Dossie Easton, author of The Ethical Slut & supported the creation of Navigating Consent, she teaches regularly with Reid Mihalko of ReidAboutSex.com, assisted Polly Superstar, founder of Kinky Salon and author of Sex Culture Revolutionary with the PR for her book, and co-produced a hot spring trip with musical genius Rachel Lark.
